Indian Railways is going to replace trains like Jan Shatabdi and Shatabdi with Vande Bharat trains very soon to provide convenience to the passengers traveling by railways. The journey of passengers from the semi-high speed train Vande Bharat will become spectacular.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav says that preparations are being made to start 75 new Vande Bharat trains in the country for the next 4 years. All the preparations for this are going on in full swing. He told that there is a plan to operate Vande Bharat train in place of Jan Shatabdi and Shatabdi in the country. For this 27 routes have been selected.
The Railway Minister said that in the first phase, preparations are being made to run Vande Bharat on 27 routes including Delhi-Amritsar, Delhi-Lucknow and Howrah. Along with this, preparations are being made to replace Shatabdi trains running on Delhi-Chandigarh and Delhi-Bhopal routes. He further informed that the construction of Vande Bharat train is on fast track.
75 trains will be ready by 15 August 2023. This 75 train will be in a better advanced version than the old model. All trains are manufactured at Integral Coach Factory, Chennai. The country’s first indigenous semi-high speed train Vande Bharat has been designed completely in-house by the Indian Railways. He said that more than 90 percent of the land required for the bullet train project has been acquired.
